Hanazono Gorge (Kitaibaraki City)
Hanazono Gorge is well-known as a great place to see Japan’s famous Autumn foliage and has been designated as a national park by Ibaraki Prefectural Government. During Autumn, the falling Autumn leaves are carried gently away by the Hanazono River – a sight not to be missed if you’re visiting Ibaraki during the Autumn.
Hanazono Shrine is located at the base of the gorge and is the perfect place to stop off during a walk around the area.
