Mount Tsukuba Cablecar & Ropeway (Tsukuba City)
The distinctive twin peaks of Mount Tsukuba tower above the flat Kanto Plain. The two peaks are known as Mount Nantai and Mount Nyotai, meaning the male peak and female peak. The summit of Mount Tsukuba is accessible by foot, or by either cable car or rope way.
Mount Tsukuba Cable Car
The Mount Tsukuba Cable Car climbs 1600m in elevation between Miyawaki Station and Mount Tsukuba Station at the mountain’s peak. There are two colours of cable car; red and green, which represent the fresh green and Autumn leaves that can be seen from the cable car. A range of special events including extended opening hours are held during the Autumn foliage season.
