Tsumugi Silk Museum (Yuki City)
This museum was opened in 2006 by Okujun Inc., a Tsumugi wholesaler with more than 100 years of history, with the aim of letting more people know about Yuki Tsumugi and its production, and also to commemorate the company’s 100 year anniversary.
The museum houses a gallery, Yuki Tsumugi exhibition, shop and a craft studio where visitors can take part in weaving and dyeing experiences. The museum also holds a range of seasonal events throughout the year including workshops on how to dye a yukata (casual summer kimono) and special displays for the Hina Doll Festival in the Spring.
