Ibaraki Flower Park (Ishioka City)
Located in the center of Mito, Kairakuen Garden is one of the three most famous gardens in Japan. The garden features a flat hill from which you can get a panoramic view of Lake Senba and its surroundings, and local people often come here to relax. Koga Park & Peach Blossom Festival (Koga City)
This park is most well-known for its beautiful peach blossom festival which takes place in late March and early April each year. During the festival, more than 1500 peach trees fill the park with pink and white blossoms, and there are a range of special events such as hot air balloon rides, musical performances and open-air food stalls.
The park also features a lotus pond, swamp area and children's play areas.
Kashima Football Stadium (Kashima City)
Kashima Football Stadium is the home stadium of the Kashima Antlers, a top tier professional football team. The Kashima Antlers played in the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup and the stadium was used as a venue during the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Th stadium will be used as a venue in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
Ibaraido Forest & Sylvanian Park (Inashiki City)
This family-oriented park is the perfect place to spend the day with loads of activities for all the family including a treetop adventure zone, farm animal petting zoo, cooking classes and pottery. The park is also home to the Sylvanian Park where fans of the Sylvanian Families toys can meet their favourite characters and visit life-size versions of Sylvanian houses and shops.

Hitachi Kamine Park (Hitachi City)
Kamine Park is situated on the slopes of Mount Kurakake overlooking the city of Hitachi and Ibaraki's beautiful Pacific Coast. Kasama Geijutsu no Mori Park
Celebrating both traditional as well as modern pottery styles, Kasama Geijutsu no Mori Park is 54.6 hectares in area. The park is well maintained, and features the Ibaraki Ceramic Art Museum and Craft Hills Kasama, where you can appreciate and buy ceramic art works and products. Craft Hills Kasama provides various kinds of hands-on programs, including pottery making, and children can play in an athletic playground.
Hitachi Fudoki no Oka
At Hitachi Fudoki no Oka, you can enter replicas of ancient houses to see how people lived in the distant past and gain a knowledge of Ibaraki’s history and culture. On display you’ll also see the biggest lion mask in Japan. In April, the weeping cherry trees bear beautiful pink blossoms, and many people visit and soak up the atmosphere of traditional Japan.
Kirara no Sato Recreation Park (Hitachi City)
This 460,000 square metre park is the perfect place to spend a day exploring and getting back in touch with nature. The park is most famous for its 1188m long slide, the longest in Japan, and is also home to a petting zoo where with ponies and goats. There are cabins where visitors can stay overnight, or bring your own tent and camp. Food options include a barbecue area, take-out food stands and a soba noodle restaurant.For more information
Aquaworld Ibaraki Prefectural Aquarium (Oarai Town)
This world-class aquarium is located on Oarai's Pacific Coast. There are more than 580 species and 68,000 creatures to see at Aquaworld including sharks, sea lions, penguins, sunfish and dolphins as well as regular special exhibitions of other species such as giant tortoises and insects.
